David’s Smile

David Bowie and David Gilmour

David Bowie and David Gilmour

February’s keyword on Music Passion is SMILE, and this is a tribute to Davids smile (2 Davids, therefore no apostrophe…Sorry Frank).

David Gilmour (seen above, filmed at the Gdańsk Shipyard to commemorate Poland’s 1980 Solidarity revolution) was, for me, the most vital component of Pink Floyd. His blazingly Beautiful yet biting guitar style has earned him avid followers even among the current generation. The solo at the end of Comfortably Numb appears in countless top 10 polls, garnering the #1 slot in WatchMojo.com’s 10 best guitar solos of all time.

David continues to preform to rapt audiences. The excellent DVD – Remember that night – was filmed over three nights, May 29, 30 & 31, 2006, at London’s Royal Albert Hall. (This being the same venue that banned pink Floyd “FOR LIFE” after they fired 2 cannon shots while performing there 0n June 26th, 1969.

And speaking of David Bowie, there are those who believe His SMILE to be the greatest ever.

This tribute is set to Oh You Pretty Things from the pre-Stardust period and is included for a specific reason. Can it finally be time for the release of the long awaited STARDUSTER epic?

Stay tuned…
